In an interview with Popular Mechanics in the tail end up February, the new Chrysler president Jim Press talked about the company’s direction. While talking about the Chrysler product future Press said, “every vehicle that Chrysler makes would be hybrid-powered.” They plan to “shrink to survive” by eliminating up to a third of the vehicle line-up. This will allow more focus on the design, fuel economy and more of the remaining models.

Chrysler plans to use their new engineering division that they named ENVI to focus on these new hybrid options’ development. Press ensured the folks at Popular Mechanics that he completely plans to go through with this hybrid plan and consumers will see it begin to take effect in the coming years. There is no set in stone timeline at this point.
